We do something very similar in our house also. It has made packing much more bareable. What I do differently is (depending on how long we are gone) I will put all the clothes (down to the socks and underware stacked with each childs clothes) into one bag labeled for each day. Saves having 6 different bags open and rummaged through for the clothes they want for the day. I pack the baby's clothes and have a buddy gather for the toddler (of course with the toddlers help cause they like to help too :)) All the dirty clothes go in one spot and we are done with one bag. So far works very well for us.

i like the idea of putting apart an outfit for hotel....rather than dragging in all suitcases....i have 6 kids and they each have a cute backpack on wheels that they are responsible for......lifesaver..no digging around for their stuff, its all in their individual backpack....God bless......

Thanks for the info. Our family is planning a trip to Florida next year. The last time we went was two years ago and one child less. I remember we were supposed to leave at 5:00pm when hubby got off work but ended up leaving around 9:00pm because I was STILL packing...and had been since early that morning! I want to be less stressed the next time around and now I have older ones who can help. Plus, stopping at a hotel on the way can be a nightmare because I'm always worried we'll leave something important behind. Your idea about packing a "hotel bag" is great (and would make check-in SO much easier)!
