Sometimes I toss around the idea of giving up this blog, as I rarely get around to posting anymore. Life seems to become busier and busier with many homeschooling, parenting, and household responsibilities to juggle. There’s also the rather discouraging idea that a blogger should have some amount of wisdom to share – but I find that this stage of life is bringing a lot of uncharted territory for me to navigate. Nursing a baby while teaching a child to read is one thing. Teaching a teen to drive, navigating college, and giving advice about romance to young adults- while still nursing babies and teaching children to read (and all the other parenting stages in between) is quite another! After ten children, eighteen years years of motherhood, and thirteen years of homeschooling, I still have surprisingly much to learn!
But seldom as I may be posting here, I can’t seem to give up the blog completely. The memories it contains from the last nine years are precious. I continue to receive emails, questions, and comments even from the older posts. And, I do occasionally have some rare burst of inspiration to share ideas, stories, and pictures. So, though often neglected, My Blessed Home remains to serve a small and quiet purpose.
Now with that said…
December was a beautiful month, and I have lots of photos to share!

Young Mike and Joseph goofing around
Outside our house. The beautiful sign is a family heirloom given to us by Michael’s parents. I’m not sure how old it is. (Gram, any idea?)
Olivia’s 15th Birthday
Olivia LOVES her little siblings to pieces. She takes them for walks nearly every day. Here they are at a nearby park during one of their walks.

Waiting for sleepy mom and dad to make their entrance for Christmas festivities…
One of our favorite Christmas traditions is having the children draw names for a gift exchange with each other. They keep their buddy a secret until Christmas day. Here you see two excited little Civil War heroes who received pop guns and hats from their secret buddies!
Faith received a giant bear from her aunt in Pennsylvania. She loves it!
But we don’t know who loves it most!

Hope y’all had a Merry Christmas! Have a Joyful New Year too!
