We’ve wanted to visit this beautiful city for some time now, but couldn’t quite find the time to make the trip. Recently with my husband’s three day weekend (Independence Day), my due date still not in range, and no other plans, we decided to drive south for a visit Friday and Saturday, and be back home in time for church on Sunday.
We spent Friday at Sea World, the first time the children or I had ever been. It was a pretty park, but it was very hot, as you’d expect for San Antonio in July. I may have overdone the walking just a bit because I felt pretty poorly for several days after. I joked that for every hour of walking I did, I needed two hours of extra sleep to make up for it! Ashlyn claimed my camera for much of the day and took some lovely pictures of her little siblings. Between her photos and those I took on my cell phone, we have lots to share!
Saturday, Independence Day, was short but enjoyable for us. We visited the Alamo in the morning, had lunch near the Riverwalk, and walked just a little while at that picturesque setting. I would love to go back again and explore more there when I’m not in a weak condition, but my 8-month-pregnant body was not doing so well after our previous day at Sea World. My husband took pity on me and began our drive home mid-afternoon. We didn’t see fireworks that day, but we didn’t mind since we had gotten to enjoy the fireworks celebration at Sea World the night before. Here are a few photos from Day 2 in San Antonio:
All in all a great weekend!
