Whew.
I can finally talk about it. For two months, I’ve been going crazy trying to keep from letting the cat out of the bag and ruining my children’s Christmas gift.
So before I burst, let me just come out with it:
We’re taking the children to Disneyworld!
Woo-Hoo!
Try keeping that a secret for two months!
A few family members have known for a while, and have shown remarkable restraint in not revealing the surprise. They’ve all been itching to see how the children responded this morning.
Those of you who are long-time blog-visitors know that on Christmas morning, we CAN’T just give our children a little card that says “Surprise! We’re going to Disneyworld.”
No, no, no. We need suspense! Remember how we announced our pregnancy last Christmas? A secret envelope and a decoy gift are more our style. And a scavenger hunt! Ooh – and poems. Lots of poems. And, oh yes, a word puzzle thrown in for good measure.
We’re mean like that. Mwa-hahahahahaaaa! (maniacal laughter)
So if you are a like-minded, mean, scavenger-hunt, decoy-gift, poetic kind of person who is taking YOUR children to Disneyworld, and would like an idea on how to announce the news, or if you’d just like to share in our fun, here’s a little video from our Christmas morning. ;-)

How wonderful! I know you all will have a blast!
Thanks, Melissa!
Exciting!! Enjoy the warm weather in Florida (we have snow here this morning)!
Hi Amy, it’s been very cold here, and we are SO looking forward to sunny Florida! :-)
Wow, how exciting! The video was so cute. Hope you guys had a merry Christmas.
Thank you, Shannon! We had a lot of fun with the scavenger hunt. :-)
It’s been a while since I’ve been able to visit your wonderful blog. I LOVED watching your Disney World reveal! Ironically, we did the SAME thing for our kids! We had a small scavenger hunt of sorts on Christmas Morning to reveal that we were going to Disney World on January 30th!!! I hope your beautiful family had as magical of a time as we did!
Hi Kim, so neat that you did the same thing for Christmas/Disney! We did have a magical time! :-)
